Wine chocolate cupcakes that will knock your socks of. Can you for real bake with wine?
Why, yes! With the help of wine flour that is made from the grapes skin you can add wine into pretty much anything. 
Most of you know that I do not drink alcohol. The taste does not appeal to me but adding a few scoops of wine flour into my cupcakes was a big hit. 

And no it does not taste like a bottle of Merlot. The wine flour gives the cupcakes a deeper flavour and enhance the chocolate caracter. 
Use some wine flour in your frosting to get a little bit more adult flavour to your cupcakes and they will go super well with your next dinner party

I have had this bag of wine flour for a long time and have not known what to make of it. And for the longest of time I have wanted to make some chocolate cupcakes. So I decided to combine the two and make some wine chocolate cupcakes. And oh buy did I hit a homerun.
These cupcakes have a deep chocolate flavour and the wine flour does not actually taste like wine but it brings a deeper and more nuanced flavour.

Are you ready for the recipe?

Portions: around 32 mini or 9 big

Ingredients:

  • 3 tsp of Syrah wine flour*
  • 1 cup of coconut milk
  • 170 grams of sugar
  • 160 grams of flour
  • 40 grams of cacao powder
  • 0,5 tsp baking powder
  • 0,70 tsp baking soda
  • 0,25 tsp salt
  • 1 /2 tsp Apple cider vinegar
  • 0,5 cups (1,20 dl) of rapeseed oil

Method:

  • Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees celcius
  • Mix all the dry ingredients
  • Whisk in all the wet ingredients with the dry and blend untill well mixed
  • Pour in cupcakes forms
  • Bake for 20 min and let cool on a rack before you add frosting
  • Store in fridge for up to 5 days
Wine chocolate cupcakes

Wineflour frosting

Ingredients:

  • 300 grams of oatly creme cheese
  • 2 tsp of wineflour
  • 2 tsp of powdered sugar

Method

  • Mix all ingredients together
  • Put in a piping bag and pipe onto your cupcakes

Enjoy them late at night eating straight from the fridge or enjoy them with good company. Impress your colleagues with your incredible cooking skills!
